Negotiating a Vacation

You’re busy. It seems like you work three times as hard to get ready to leave for a week. Then, it takes three weeks to catch up when you return.

❓Does it seem that everything happens during those days right before you leave?

Despite all the busyness with life and the business, I’m so glad we took the time to get away. Our destination was incredible: Oahu, Hawaii.

We visited our daughter Taylor and her husband, Ross, who is stationed there. We hiked, explored, went to the beach, and watched Ross receive a promotion to Staff Sergeant in the Army. AND … we played games, ate good meals, relaxed, and laughed.

❓What would it take to get away for a week or 10 days to truly relax?

❓If you have had a recent vacation, how did you make it happen?

❓What would you advise others on both negotiating time away and relaxing once you’re off?

Three days into our trip, I finally slowed down. I started to see the rainbows for which the island is noted. At first, people had to point them out to me. As the stay continued, we started to see them everywhere. In fact, we saw four rainbows on the way to the airport to depart.

❓What could you observe or gain if you took the time?

Negotiate a way for you to chillax and have a fun vacation, even if it means a staycation and experiencing something fun and different in your hometown.

You are worth it. Your investment in you, will add value to those around you. That reset is like the gold at the end of the rainbow. Promise.
